How bizarre that in the space of 18 hours I ran 2 utterly different runs. Yesterday I went out after work and the 30 minute run was a run from hell. My tummy hurt, my legs were heavy and I could not run all the way. I felt like crap and started to wonder if I'd bitten off more than I could chew.
This morning I was up and out by 6.15am and felt amazing. I started off slowly as advised by other far more experienced runners on the Flora Marathon blog site. And before I knew it I'd run 26 minutes non-stop with 2 big hills under my belt and was back home , in the shower feeling like a very smug person.
I love running early. I always go on well lit roads ( well, pavements ), but it is so quiet, the air is cold and fresh and it is such a great feeling to see 7am and know that you've done your run for the day.
I have been going on the Flora London Marathon website quite a bit and there sems to be a great spirit of camaraderie there. All sorts of standards of runners are there and are universally full of encouragement and advice.
I have been on this training plan now for 9 weeks. There are 4 runs a week and I have not missed a single one. I am feeling much fitter and really quite proud of myself in a quiet way !! I am about to get to the serious part soon though. That means much longer runs. I am looking forward to it!!

Well done Sarah, you must be feeling a great sense of achievement! You are out there doing it while so many others are just talking about it (my friend in particular, LOL).
Update: I ran 5 miles on Tues and Thurs.
